LogMeIn, Inc. is an American software company based in Boston that specializes in remote maintenance services. LogMeIn uses a proprietary SSL encrypted protocol for this.

Around half of sales are generated in the areas of web conferencing and remote maintenance (remote access & remote support).

history

LogMeIn was founded in 2003 under the name 3am Labs in Budapest . In 2006 the name changed to "LogMeIn". In 2007, LogMeIn took over Hamachi , a well-known VPN software.

The company went public on June 30, 2009 .

In 2012 LogMeIn moved from Woburn to Boston, Massachusetts.

In October 2015, the company took over the provider of the password manager LastPass .

In July 2016, LogMeIn announced the acquisition of Citrix's GoTo division for $ 1.8 billion. The company's own Goto division is merged into a Reverse Morris Trust and the new company is then spun off under the name GetGo .

In December 2019, LogMeIn announced a press release that it would be sold to subsidiaries of Francisco Partners and that the acquisition should be completed by mid-2020.
