Logis de France is an independent, joint brand of around 2,400 mostly smaller hotels and restaurants, mostly family-owned, in France and French Guiana . The average number of rooms is only 18 rooms per hotel.

The Logis hotels were created on the basis of an association concept that unites the hoteliers as well as elected local representatives and representatives from the tourism sector at all levels and in equal parts ( chambers of commerce , tourism committees or professional tourist associations). The French Logis hotels are organized in 92 departmental associations and 12 regional associations.

The association pursues a common concept for service quality in terms of hospitality, authenticity and regionality (for example the range of regional specialties). The members are identified by the brown-green logo with the “L” for “Logis” and a fireplace.

The member houses are divided into three quality classes.

The Logis hotels are classified according to 1, 2 or 3 chimneys:

  • 1 fireplace - Practically and comfortably furnished, with an excellent price-performance ratio.
  • 2 fireplaces - well-kept comfort at an affordable price with a good mix of tradition and professionalism.
  • 3 chimneys - very high comfort, highest quality.

In addition, there are sometimes thematic classifications such as the additional designations Logis de Caractère (lodging with a special charm) or Logis Bacchus (lodging for wine lovers).

Around 500 criteria relating to food and service, the furnishings of the rooms and the hotel-restaurant as well as the surroundings are checked for the classification. Special emphasis is placed on the hospitality of the owner and his team.
