The Lohnbachfall is an underground stretch of the Lohnbach flowing over several cascades in the Lower Austrian Waldviertel .
The course of the river disappears completely under moss-covered granite blocks for a distance of about 300 meters and conquers several altitude levels, the most striking of which is eight meters high. Only at the time of the snowmelt or after heavy rain do the masses of water tumble over the granite rocks and pour themselves over the rock in numerous white hissing fountains gushing out of crevices.
The Lohnbachfall can be accessed via the Zellersteg, which can be entered on both the east and west sides. It has been designated as a natural monument since 1982 .
