Lois Lammerhuber

Lois Lammerhuber (* 1952 in St. Peter in der Au ) is an Austrian photographer and author .

Life

Lois Lammerhuber worked as a programmer until 1978. He then toured the Panamericana from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego until 1980 . It was on this trip that he turned to photography for the first time.

In 1984 the collaboration with GEO magazine began . Ten years later, Lammhuber was editorially and photographically responsible for the Austria section of GEO magazine.

With his wife Silvia Lammerhuber, he founded the Edition Lammerhuber publishing house in 1996.

In 2012 Lois Lammerhuber donated the “Lammerhuber Photography Award”, a prize for young talent in photojournalism , which is awarded for the best photo report at the Lumix Festival in Hanover . Lammerhuber pledged to finance the award for the next 20 years.
