London Spitfire is a professional Overwatch e-sports team based in London , England , which in the Overwatch League competes (OWL). The team is one of twelve founding members of the OWL and was the ninth franchise whose brands were officially published by Activision Blizzard . The organization belongs to the American eSports organization Cloud9 .

They became OWL's first stage champions when they defeated New York Excelsior in a reverse sweep on February 11, 2017.

Roster

The original London Spitfire roster consisted of 12 players, who were allowed a maximum. The roster consisted entirely of South Korean players, many of whom previously played for Cloud9 KongDoo and GC Busan. The team and its roster were announced on November 1, 2017, making it the ninth team to be announced.

Spitfire trainer Agape left the team on January 9th, 2018. The popular Overwatch YouTuber "Stylosa" was hired as an official British advisor on January 11th, two days later.

On February 20, 2018, Spitfire announced the sale of Main Tank Fissure to the Los Angeles Gladiators. The next day, February 21, they announced that they had sold DPS player Rascal to Dallas Fuel.

Spitfire split from head coach Beom-joon "Bishop" Lee on March 7, 2018. The reasons for this are not officially known, but it is reportedly due to poor relationships between the manager and the players.

On March 8, 2018, Spitfire announced the signing of Jang-hyun "TiZi" Hwang, a major tank player who previously played for RunAway.

London Spitfire jokingly announced on April 1st that Overwatch would replace YouTuber and Spitfire associate Stylosa Profit as the team's main DPS.

On July 28, 2018, the London Spitfire won the Overwatch League's debut season with a 3-0 win in the final against Philadelphia Fusion .
