Walter Werres

Walter Werres (born February 13, 1929 in Breyell ; † February 15, 2012 in Münster ) was a German educationalist . He was best known in empirical teaching research.

Life

Walter Werres was born on February 13, 1929 in Breyell / Rhineland. After studying to be a teacher, he worked as a teacher at elementary schools from 1955 to 1962. He completed his further studies in pedagogy, psychology, sociology and philosophy in 1966 at the University of Münster with a doctorate. In 1975 he completed his habilitation and received the license to teach educational science - school pedagogy / general didactics. From 1980 he was a professor at the Institute for School and Classroom Research in the Department of Education.

Services

After completing his teaching degree and studying pedagogy, psychology, sociology and philosophy, Walter Werres devoted himself in particular to empirical teaching research. He was head of the work area for the secondary school and co-organizer of the mobile learning workshop in Münster.
