The Long Rock (from English long , long, wide ' ) is a small, elongated rock island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located in Morton Strait , 3 km north of the eastern end of Snow Island .
The island got its descriptive name from participants in the Discovery Investigations , who mapped the nested passage between Snow Island and Livingston Island from 1930 to 1931.
