The Longton Point is a promontory of rock cliffs and glacial fractures on the southeastern foothills of Cook Iceland in the archipelago of the South Sandwich Islands .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1971 after the British botanist Royce Ekins Longton (* 1939), who was involved in the measurements of the South Sandwich Islands with the HMS Protector in 1964 .
