Lord Ross
Lord Ross was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Scotland .
The title was created in 1499 for Sir John Ross, of Halkhead . The exact date of the award is not certain. 1732 inherited the 12th Lord Balnagown Castle , the old ancestral seat of the Earls of Ross . He and his successors as Lords Ross were thereby also hereditary Clan Chief of Clan Ross .
Since the 14th lord died on August 19, 1754 without heirs, the lordship has been considered extinct.
