Loren T. Stuckenbruck

Loren T. Stuckenbruck (* 1960 in Tübingen ) is a New Testament scholar .

Life

From 1977 to 1981 he studied Biblical Studies and Greek at Milligan College (BA); 1981–1982 specialty language studies at Butler University ; 1982–1986 Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary ; after two years in Tübingen and Heidelberg as a Fulbright scholar (1986–1988) , he received his Ph.D. at Princeton Theological Seminary (1988-1992; awarded 1994). He taught at the University of Kiel 1992–1994 ( research assistant , research assistant ), then lecturer (1994–1999), lecturer (1999–2003) and BF Westcott Chair for Biblical Studies (2003–2009) at Durham University . Joined LMU after being Richard Dearborn Professor of New Testament at Princeton Theological Seminary (2009–2012). He has also been an honorary professor at Durham University (since January 2010) and Aarhus University (since April 2011) and was Lady Davis Visiting Professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (spring 2012).

He is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) , and was ordained in the Christian Churches in 1982 .

His main research interests are Dead Sea Scrolls and related literature from the Second Temple period, New Testament theology, especially theological anthropology, the problem of evil, "apocalyptic" thinking and understanding of God, and the study of Aramaic, Hebrew, Greek and Classical Ethiopian texts at the time of the Second Temple.
