Lou & the Hollywood Bananas is a project by the Belgian producer Lou Deprijck , who worked with Plastic Bertrand , among others .
background
Lou Deprijck sang himself at Lou & the Hollywood Bananas, accompanied by changing singers. The single Kingston, Kingston made it into several European charts in 1979. The songs were heavily influenced by the Ska revival, which had hit England at that time and also spread to the European continent. The singles Hollywood, Hollywood (1979) and Wings of a Dove (1980) also contained ska elements. The single Time Warp followed later , a cover version of the play of the same name from the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show . All of the singles were also released in Germany on the Hansa International label.
