Lough Mask ( Irish : Loch Measca ) is a 89 km² lake in a limestone area in County Mayo in the west of the Republic of Ireland . It lies north of Lough Corrib and is the upper of the two lakes over which the River Corrib flows through Galway City into Galway Bay . The Keel Canal connects it to Lough Carra .
The lake is known for its trout population among anglers.
