Louis Beydts

Louis Beydts (born June 29, 1895 in Bordeaux , † September 15, 1953 in Caudéran (now Bordeaux)) was a French composer.

Beydts received his musical training in his hometown of Bordeaux. He wrote the operetta “Moineau” (Paris 1931), the musical comedy “Les Canards” Mandarins (Monte Carlo 1931), the comic opera “La SADMP” (Paris 1931), the Chinese legend “Le Voyage de Tchong-Li” ( Paris 1932), the incidental music for Alfred de Musset's “Il ne faut jurer de rien” (Paris 1937), various film scores, the suite for 14 instruments “A travers Paris”, works for voice and orchestra, pieces for piano, violin and saxophone as well as various choirs and songs.

In 1950 Beydts became director of the Opéra-Comique in Paris.
