Louis Boullogne

Louis Boullogne , (also called Louis le père or Louis Boullogne the Elder ; * around 1609 in Picardy , † June 1674 in Paris ) was a French painter.

Boullogne worked until his death as a professor at the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture in Paris and was a. a. a friend of Maurice Quentin de La Tour . He had two sons ( Bon and Louis ) and two daughters ( Geneviève and Madeleine ) who also became painters.
