Louis Rinn
Louis Rinn (born March 28, 1838 in Paris , † 1905 ) was a French lawyer and officer.
Life
He was a graduate of the Saint-Cyr Military School (1855). He was vice-president of the Société historique algérienne . In 1864 he went to Algeria , where he was assigned to the Bureaux Arabes dans le Constantinois (Département de Constantine). He is the author of numerous books, most of which have been published by Adolphe Jourdan in Algiers . His best-known work is his study of the marabouts and brotherhoods of Islam in Algeria: Marabouts et khouan: étude sur l'islam en Algérie (Algiers 1884). He also worked on the Berbers and made numerous contributions to the Revue africaine (the Société historique algérienne).
