The Louise Island ( French Île Louise ) is a 1 km long island off the Danco coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 1.5 km east of Cape Anna and just as far west of Emma Island on the southwest side of the entrance to Wilhelmina Bay .
Participants of the Belgica expedition (1897-1899) of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery discovered it in January 1898. De Gerlache named the island after his sister.
