description

The after Lourdes cave named Cave is about 2 m wide and 2.50 m deep. A wrought iron gate decorates the entrance. In the grotto there is a Mother of God with a Bernadette statue . The last renewal is described on a bronze sign to the left of the entrance.

history

After the former Lourdes grotto, which was located in the churchyard, collapsed, this grotto was established in 1964 when a new retaining wall was built. It was renovated again in 2000. A former resident of the farm below the church named Bernhard Geiger from Kornwestheim had remembered his homeland and renovated the grotto at his own expense. Some craftsmen from Treffelhausen also performed work free of charge. In the course of this renovation, a forecourt was created opposite the grotto, where a bench is set up to linger. An emergency church was built on this forecourt after the great Treffelhausen fire in 1857 .
