Treffelhausen is a district of the municipality of Böhmenkirch in the district of Göppingen in Baden-Württemberg .

history

A settlement with several houses must have existed in Treffelhausen as early as the 7th or 8th century. In the tithe book of the Diocese of Constance, Treffelhausen is mentioned for the first time in 1275. In 1859 the village burned down completely, and 86 buildings fell victim to the fire. The St. Vitus Church also burned down to the tower; it was rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style in 1865/1866 by the Viennese cathedral builder Friedrich von Schmid .

The formerly independent municipality, which is three kilometers west of the center of Böhmenkirch, was incorporated into Baden-Württemberg on January 1, 1973 as part of the municipality reform. There is the Treffelhausen administrative office in the village, the mayor is Marco Kühn.

In Treffelhausen, school-age children can attend elementary school nearby.
