Lovebug Starski (* 16th May 1960 in the Bronx , New York City , † 8. February 2018 in Las Vegas , Nevada ; bourgeois Kevin Smith , also known as Little Starsky ) was an American hip-hop - DJ and one of the Pioneers of the genre. The origin of the term Hip Hop goes back to him or his former partner DJ Hollywood .

He began his career as a DJ in the late 1970s and became a DJ at the then famous Club Disco Fever in New York City in 1978 and at Harlem World , a club then known as the home of many battle rappers . His first single, Positive Life , was released in the 1980s, followed by his first LP House Rock . His career was temporarily interrupted by a prison sentence, but he continued it into the 1980s.

Lovebug Starski was primarily responsible for the soundtrack for the film Rappin ' and tried a comeback a few years ago together with DJ Hollywood as The Veteranz . He died of a heart attack at the age of 57 .
