Lovelace is an impact crater on the back of the moon near the lunar north pole . It lies between Lenard in the north and Froelich in the south. The walls of the crater are terraced, the interior is relatively flat with a pronounced central mountain. The side crater Lovelace E is about 50 km to the east at the same width .

The crater was named by the IAU in 1970 after the US doctor and aerospace specialist William Randolph Lovelace II .
