Low Roar is an Icelandic post-rock / electronica project by the Californian artist Ryan Karazija.

history

After being the front man of the Californian indie rock band Audrye Sessions from 2002 to 2010, Ryan Karazija moved to Reykjavík in 2011 , started the Low Roar project, and released the album of the same name, Low Roar . The second album, 0 , was released on Tonequake Records in 2014, followed by Once in a Long, Long While ... in 2017. The latest Low Roar album, Ross , was released in November 2019.

The band's music is widely used in the 2019 video game Death Stranding . The collaboration with video game developer Hideo Kojima came about after he discovered a CD from Low Roar in a record store in Reykjavík. Kojima describes Low Roar's music as "sensual" and "unique".
