Loyd Blankenship , aka The Mentor , (* 1965 ) is an American hacker and author .

Life

Loyd Blankenship is the author of on 8 January 1986 under the pseudonym The Mentor in the underground magazine Phrack published Hacker Manifesto . He is also a co-founder of the “ Legion of Doom ” hacking group . In 1990 he designed the role-playing game system " GURPS Cyberpunk" for the game publisher Steve Jackson Games . He is currently working as a freelance game designer and musician.

In 2005, a documentary about Blankenship's life was published in the film BBS: The Documentary - The Mentor .
