Lua (mythology)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lua (with Titus Livius also Lua Mater ) was a goddess of the Roman religion , which was probably of ancient Italian , possibly Etruscan origin. It was related to Saturnus (Lua Saturni) . Lua were sacrificed to Lua by Roman generals who had captured the weapons of their enemies in battle, by burning them to burn them. This served as an atonement for the blood that was shed.
