biography

Luc Arbogast (2016)

Luc Arbogast plays music in the tradition of medieval rural music from his French homeland and also borrows from German musicians such as Walter von der Vogelweide and Hildegard von Bingen . He appears as a street musician and at concerts, e.g. in cathedrals, and has recorded several albums on his own, which he sells during his performances. His preferred instrument is the Irish bouzouki , which he taught himself. With his clear counter tenor voice he comes right up to the high soprano range .

In the spring of 2013, Arbogast took part in the casting show The Voice . He was accepted into Jenifer Bartoli 's team at the blind auditions . His contribution Cancion sefaradi hit the single charts after it was broadcast. Then he survived the Battle Round , but then dropped out in the first live show. Nevertheless, he then got a recording deal from Mercury and put together an album with the title Odysseus in the summer of the same year . After its release, it went straight to number one on the French album charts and stayed there for two weeks. It reached platinum status after three weeks . He was also very successful in the French-speaking parts of Belgium and Switzerland. This made him, despite his early departure, the The Voice participant with the greatest commercial success in France.

Just one year later, the album Oreflam was released , which was able to build on this success and achieved a top 5 placement in Arbogast's homeland. In it he also recorded the music of the fantasy television series Game of Thrones , a video clip with the theme song reached almost 2 million views on YouTube .

In 2015 he appeared again as a guest on The Voice and the following year another album followed with Metamorphosis . Interest had waned, however, in France it still reached number 35 on the album charts, in Belgium and Switzerland there was hardly any demand for it.
