Luc Luycx

Luc Luycx (born April 11, 1958 in Aalst ) is a Belgian designer of coins (coin designer). He became known as the designer of the uniform European obverse of the euro coins that bear his initials "LL".

After studying computer science, he was employed as a programmer at the Brussels Mint in 1985 . In 1991 he took over the position of coin designer. He is the author of numerous other medal projects and coin projects, including the reverse of the commemorative coin commemorating the fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Rome .
