Luciana Martins

Luciana de Lima Martins (* 1963 in Alegrete ) is a Brazilian cultural scientist .

Martins studied architecture and received a PhD in geography from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro . Since 2003 she has been teaching at Birkbeck College in London, where she was director of the Center for Iberian and Latin American Visual Studies .

Her most famous publication is Tropical visions in an age of empire .
