Lucien Weiler (born August 3, 1951 in Ettelbrück ) is a Luxembourg politician of the CSV .

Life

Lucien Weiler grew up in Diekirch and works there as a lawyer. From 1986 to 1987, Weiler was a member of the Diekirch municipal council and was a lay judge between 1988 and 1993. Since June 8, 1989 he has been a deputy for the Northern District in the Chamber , the Luxembourg Parliament, in which he also assumed the role of parliamentary group president of his CSV party . His main areas of expertise include finance, economics, justice and social policy.

From 2004 to 2009 Weiler was President of the Chamber and thus the country's first citizen.

In 2013 he did not stand in the Luxembourg parliamentary elections and thus withdrew from active politics.

In December 2015 it was announced that Weiler has been court marshal at the Luxembourg grand-ducal court since January 4, 2016.

Weiler is married and has two sons. His hobbies include reading and, as a nature-loving person, his garden and breeding of small animals.
