Eumachians
The Eumachians were a rich and influential family in Campania, who emerged in the early Roman Empire in the shape of two people:
- Lucius Eumachius was an entrepreneur who ran a brick factory which, as was customary at the time, produced amphorae part of the year and bricks the other part of the year. He also grew wine. Both earned him a considerable fortune. At the beginning of the reign of Emperor Augustus , L. Eumachius moved to Pompeii .
- Eumachia , the daughter of L. Eumachius and mother of Marcus Numistrius Fronto.
