Lucius Fabius Gallus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lucius Fabius Gallus was a Roman senator and in 131, together with Quintus Fabius Iulianus, a suffect consul .

The previously unknown consul Fabius Gallus is probably already attested. A fistula aquaria , which is dated to the 2nd century, testifies to a Lucius Fabius Gallus as the owner of a private water supply; Senatorial rank was already suspected for him. He could be identical with Fabius Gallus; however, an Umbria Albina is also mentioned on the same line of wire , which could possibly suggest a somewhat later dating of the fistula , not until the 2nd half of the 2nd century. Then the owner of the fistula would be a descendant of Fabius Gallus.
