Quintus Fabius Iulianus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quintus Fabius Iulianus was a Roman senator and in 131, together with Lucius Fabius Gallus, a suffect consul .

The previously unknown consul Fabius Iulianus can probably be identified with a Quintus Fabius Iulianus Optatianus Lucius Fabius Geminus Cornelianus , who is known as consul by an inscription. The lost inscription is generally dated to the 2nd century. This consul is the son of a Marcus and belonged to the tribus Galeria . Therefore, it is believed that he came from the Baetica province . It was also previously suspected that he was a son of Marcus Fabius Iulianus Heracleo Optatianus , whom the Arvalakten name as a member of the Arval College from 135 to 155. If you identify Quintus Fabius Iulianus Optatianus ... with Fabius Iulianus, that is hardly possible any more. One can rather see in the Arvalbruder a younger brother of Fabius Iulianus.
