Lucius Publilius Celsus
Lucius Publilius Celsus († 118 in Baiae) was a Roman politician and senator .
Despite two consulates ( suffect consul 102 and consul 113), little is known about Celsus . A military diploma dated May 5, 102, proves that he was a suffect consul with Titus Didius Secundus in 102 . As a favorite of the Emperor Trajan , Celsus took part in the Dacer Wars . He was convicted in absentia by Emperor Hadrian in the early summer of 118 and murdered in Baiae . Allegedly he had planned an attack on the emperor.
