Lucius Valerius Firmus

Lucius Valerius Firmus (full name form Lucius Valerius Luci filius Poblilia Firmus ) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd century AD . Individual stations of his career are known through an inscription. His full name is passed down through another inscription. Both inscriptions were found in Gerasa and are incomplete.

The military career of the Firmus consisted of the usual Tres militiae for a member of the equestrian order . He initially took over the management of the Cohors XXVI Voluntariorum as a tribune . He then became a military tribune in the Legio X Gemina . The third stage was the post of prefect of the Ala Siliana . After completing his military career, he became a procurator .

Firmus was registered in the Tribus Poblilia .

  1. The dating of the inscription and therefore the career is controversial.
