In Germany, several Kung-Fu family films are grouped under the heading Lucky Kids .

In the course of the martial arts films Welle in the 70s and 80s, some Kung Fu films in German were dubbed in which children play the leading role. Originally these films did not belong together. However, due to better marketing , these films all received the upper title Lucky Kids in Germany . There are also two films under the title Lucky Seven .

The films are mostly about a group of 3 - 7 children. They all train kung fu and are pretty good at it. Usually they are boys. Except for Lucky Seven , where a girl also plays a leading role. In addition, girls are also secondary characters in Kung-Fu, such as in The Funny Dozen or Lucky Kids - The five Superfighters .

In the films, the children usually fight against villains; preferably the Chinese mafia . As a rule, they want to get possession of things that belong to people who are close to the children. In the end, children always succeed in defeating the bad guys.

The first films received an FSK 16 rating due to the strict German guidelines . The later films were then approved with FSK 12.

However, the films do not contain any excessively violent depictions. The action in these films is very humorous. Therefore, according to the new FSK guidelines, this would correspond to an FSK 6 approval. The films are actually suitable for children aged 9 and over.
