The Lucky Kids children's choir at the Rheinische Musikschule Köln was founded in 1998 by choir director Michael Kokott . With around 80 choir members aged 7 to 17, the choir is one of the largest and most successful children's choirs in Germany.

The Lucky Kids became known through appearances on German television, including Bambi , The Ultimate Chartshow , TV total , ARD annual review “Das Quiz”, Welcome to Carmen Nebel , RTL donation marathon , The Bülent Ceylan Show , X Factor (Germany) , Just ask die Maus and ZDF television garden .

To the chart successes of Unheilig "Born to Live" (2010) and " Winter " (2010), the chart hit "Spinner" (2010) by the Hamburg band Revolverheld , the titles "Niemandsland" from the album " So gewollt " (2011) of the DSDS winner 2008 Thomas Godoj , "World Champion" (2010) by Elton vs. Peilomat and “Noh Zahle mohle” from the album “ Aff un zo ” (2001) by the Cologne rock band BAP were contributed by the Lucky Kids to the choir. For its participation in the Unheilig hit " Born to Live " (2010), the choir was awarded a triple gold record in 2011 and for its participation in the "Unheilig" album " Lights of the City " (2012) in 2013 with a four-fold Excellent platinum record. The choir took part in the Unheilig album “ Gipfelstürmer ” (2014) and contributed the choir songs for the title “The Wisdoms of Life”.

Former members have continued their singing careers, including with the St. Stephan youth choir in Cologne and the German casting shows Deutschland sucht den Superstar , Big in America and X Factor . Ex-Lucky Kids singer Christoph Watrin was the singer of the boy band US5 from 2005 to 2008 .
