Ludmila Bertlová

Ludmila "Lala" Bertlová (born February 1, 1914 in Prague , Austria-Hungary; † June 23, 1961 in Lucerne , Switzerland) was a Czech concert violinist. She is the dedicatee of the memorial composition by the composer Rafael Kubelík .

Life

As a student of Prof. Irene Spitzner, the daughter of the architect Josef Bertl was a member of the “Villa Prochazkova-Borovcova” cultural initiative, which, under the direction of Matha Prochazkova-Borovcova, continued the tradition of the Spitzner music group in Prague.

Bertlová married the conductor Rafael Kubelík in 1943, their son Martin was born in 1946. Her brother was the politician and journalist Jiří Bertl.
