Ludvig Bødtcher (born April 22, 1793 in Copenhagen ; † 1874 there ) was an anacreontic Danish poet .

He spent most of his youth in Italy interacting with Danish poets and artists, notably Bertel Thorvaldsen , and played a key role in ensuring that the latter's works became the property of his native city.

After returning in 1835, he lived continuously in Copenhagen, where he died in 1874. Bødtcher left only two small collections of poems that are important to Danish poetry. Essentially erotic, they are characterized by natural grace, a strong painterly sense in connection with a healthy zest for life, which is expressed in a lively feeling for everything good and beautiful in life.
