Christian Albrecht Jensen
Christian Albrecht Jensen (born June 26, 1792 in Bredstedt , North Friesland, † July 13, 1870 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish painter and portraitist . In Denmark, Jensen's pictures are part of the general cultural heritage. He is considered a representative of the Danish Golden Age of painting.
Life
His father was Boy Jenasen, a glove maker , and his mother was Maria Magdalena, née Jessen. In 1810 he began studying with Christian August Lorentzen at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen. In 1818 he traveled to Rome and got in touch with the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen . In 1823 he returned to Copenhagen, where he married Cathrine Lorenzen . From 1832 he worked as a copyist in the collection of paintings of the Danish royal family at Frederiksborg Palace .
