Air identification on a money transporter

The roof markings ( aerial markings ) of vehicles, especially those used by the fire brigade , the police , the rescue service and aid organizations , enable these vehicles to be addressed via radio from the air. Many cash-in- transit vehicles are also marked with aerial markings. In addition to alphanumeric identification, symbols are also used.

The roof marking often consists of the license plate . You can v. a. in the case of purely regional uses also consist of the (then usually clearly abbreviated) radio call name (sometimes also with the radio channel ), or an internal coding of the respective organization.

For emergency vehicles with changing radio call names (e.g. due to assignment to associations with their own radio call names, stationing at changing guards, or national use with different radio systems), only the license plate makes sense. However, this makes direct communication with the vehicle more difficult if the crew does not know the license plate number. This should therefore always be clearly legible on the dashboard of every vehicle.
