Luigi Dall'Igna

Luigi Dall'Igna , often Gigi Dall'Igna , (born July 12, 1966 in Thiene ) is an Italian engineer and has been racing director of the Ducati MotoGP team since 2014 .

Career

Dall'Igna studied mechanical engineering in Padua and joined the Aprilia racing team in 1992 ; Most recently he was head of racing there and responsible for the development of the Aprilia RSV4 Factory , with which Max Biaggi won the Superbike World Championship twice in 2010 and 2012 .

At the end of 2013, he moved to Ducati , where he was responsible for the Ducati Corse racing department as sports director . He replaced Bernhard Gobmeier, who switched to Volkswagen Motorsport .

His first motorcycle developed by Ducati is the Ducati Desmosedici GP15 , which was used in the 2015 motorcycle world championship , with the further developments of the GP14 (GP 14.1, 14.2, 14.3) already taking place under his responsibility.
