Luis Benjamin
Luisito Benjamín , actually Luis Adrián Benjamín Laverne (born December 4, 1922 in Yabucoa , † July 13, 1988 ) was a Puerto Rican pianist.
As a child, Benjamín took piano and saxophone lessons from his father, the band leader, trombonist, pianist and violinist Adrián Benjamín and performed with his band, the Los Caribbean Kids . He played in dance bands in the US Army, led orchestras and later toured the USA and the Caribbean as a pianist. He was the pianist of Miguel Valdez's band and also made numerous solo recordings of Latin American-influenced dance music.
