Luis Ernesto Pérez Gómez (born January 12, 1981 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican football player .

Pérez played for his country back in 1997 at the U17 World Cup in Egypt and made his debut in the Mexican senior team on November 17, 1998 , even before he made his first game in the Primera División . That came about 10 months later in the Necaxa team . He completed over 100 missions for the club from the city of Aguascalientes before he moved to CF Monterrey in 2002, after reaching the runner-up in the summer season . With Monterrey he became champion in the Clausura in 2003 and second in the championship twice in the following years. The central midfielder also developed into a successful goal scorer with 14 goals in the 2005/06 season.

In the national team he became a regular player after the 2002 World Cup , he played at the 2004 Olympics (U23 selection) and the 2005 Confederations Cup in all games. With five goals in eleven games, he also contributed to his country's successful qualification for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, where he is part of Mexico's squad .
