Lukhanji was a municipality ( Local Municipality ) in the Chris Hani District , Eastern Cape Province in South Africa . 190,723 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​4,260 km² (as of 2011). The seat of the local government was Queenstown . Mcedisi Nontsele was the last mayor of the municipality.

The parish name is the isiXhosa name for the mountain which is east of Queenstown.

In 2016 the parish was merged with the parishes Inkwanca and Tsolwana to form the parish Enoch Mgijima .

The motto of the community was Umanyano Ngamandla.
