Inkwanca was a municipality ( Local Municipality ) of the Chris Hani District , Eastern Cape Province in South Africa . 21,971 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​3584 km² (as of 2011). The seat of the municipal administration was Molteno .

The municipality name is the isiXhosa word for "cold", in the municipality the lowest temperatures in the province are regularly measured.

In 2016 the parish was merged with the parishes of Lukhanji and Tsolwana to form the parish of Enoch Mgijima .

The motto of the community was Together Advancing in Development, for example: "Moving forward together through further development".
