Lumírovci was a group of writers of the new generation before the First World War in the Czech Republic. They differed from their rivals Ruchovci mainly through the integration of foreign language literature. In later years there were synergies between the two groups.

The group consisted of writers and publicists around the magazine Lumír , which appeared for the first time in 1851. They strove for a literature of humanity and perfect form. This tendency towards formality and aesthetics is evident in poems that are keen to experiment and the recourse to classical forms such as the sonnet . The lyrics were loving and subjectively intimate.

The circle aimed to improve the quality of Czech literature , it should take on the character of world literature and give itself an international, open-minded character. At the same time, world literature should be introduced to one's own people. This explains the numerous translations of famous works, mainly by French and Italian authors.
