Lung Yeuk Tau

Lung Yeuk Tau ( Chinese  龍躍 頭  /  龙跃 头 , Pinyin Lóngyuètóu  - "Mountain of the jumping dragon"), colloquially also Lung Ku Tau ( 龍 骨頭  /  龙 骨头 , Lónggǔtou  - "Dragon Bone Mountain ") and Lung Ling ( 龍 嶺  /  龙岭 , Lónglǐng  - "Dragon Peak "), is a region in the northeast of the Luen Wo Hui market in the Fanling area in northern Hong Kong in the New Territories .

The region is largely shaped by the Tang clan , who traced back to a descent from the Song dynasty and immigrated to the area in the 13th century. Here they founded the mountain village group of the "Five Wai and Six Tsuen" ( 五 圍 六 村  /  五 围 六 村 , Wǔ Wéi Liù Cūn , Jyutping Ng 5 Wai 4 Luk 6 Cyun 1 , English Five Wai and Six Tsuen  - “five walled villages and six villages ”).

Due to the history of the region and the preservation and practice of old traditions and customs in the settlements, such as the common prayer in spring and autumn, the annual Tin Hau festival or the "Tai Ping Ching Chiu" festival , which is held only every ten years ( 太平 清 醮 , Tàipíng qīng jiào ), the 2.6 km long "Lung-Yeuk-Tau History Trail " ( 龍躍 頭 文物 徑  /  龙跃 头 文物 径 , Lóngyuètóu wénwù jìng , English Lung ) became on December 4, 1999 Yeuk Tau Heritage Trail ).
