Lutin (mythology)

A lutin [ lytɛ̃ ] is a male mythical creature in French fairy tales . The female variant is called Lutines ( lytin ). The figure has its origin in fairy tales of Normandy . A lutin has a similar meaning to a house spirit. He wears a red hat that makes him invisible.
