Lozenges ( Belarusian Мінскі гадзіннікавы завод "Луч" / Menski hadsinnikawy zavod "Luch" , Russian Минский часовой завод Луч / Minski Tschassowoi zavod "Luch" , German: Minsk watch factory beam ) is a manufacturer of watches from Minsk in Belarus . The product range includes wristwatches with quartz movements and those with mechanical movements .

history

The factory was founded in 1956 and produced 57,000 "Zarya" wristwatches in the first year, and in the first two years of its existence the company sold a total of 210,000 wristwatches. In 1963, Lutsch began producing ladies' watches under the “Vympel” brand, which were particularly popular in Great Britain . A total of 1,050,000 watches of this brand were sold worldwide. In 1964 the ladies' wristwatch “Luch-1300” came on the market. This was the smallest wristwatch ever made in the Soviet Union .

From 1973 the product range was expanded to include watches for motor vehicles. The Lutsch company temporarily became the only supplier of such watches for AwtoWAS and their Lada . In 1979 the company expanded production to include electromechanical clocks and small alarm clocks.

The company currently employs around 7,000 people in 150 branches. 500,000 watches are made alone. The range includes 1005 different articles. 60% of the products are exported, mainly to Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the former Yugoslavia, Africa and Hong Kong.
