Lutz Rudolph

Lutz Rudolph (born September 28, 1936 in Gera ; † March 7, 2011 in Berlin ) was a German designer .

Life

Rudolph was born as the son of the painter Hans Rudolph (1905-1993) and the saleswoman Margarete Hildegard Rudolph. He studied from 1955 to 1960 at the Berlin-Weißensee School of Art . He then worked at the Central Institute for Design in Berlin and was an aspirant at the art college. From 1968 to 2000 he worked as a freelance form and product designer in Berlin.

In collaboration with Clauss Dietel , he created products that are among the classics of GDR design, including the Heliradio devices and the Wartburg 353 .
