Lydia Mutsch (born August 17, 1961 in Dudelange ) is a Luxembourg politician .

Lydia Mutsch studied political science and social sciences at the University of Göttingen . She graduated in 1985.

She has been a member of the social democratic LSAP since 1987 . At the municipal level, she first became a member of the municipal council of Esch an der Alzette in 1988 . From 2000 to 2013 she was mayor of the city.

In 1989 she was elected to the Luxembourg parliament . In the subsequent elections she was able to return to parliament. Between the end of 2013 and the end of 2018 she was Minister of Health and Minister for Equal Opportunities in the Bettel-Schneider government . She has been a member of the Luxembourg Parliament again since December 6, 2018.
