Lygdamis of Naxos

Lygdamis ( Greek  Λύγδαμις ) was a tyrant of the Greek island of Naxos in the second half of the 6th century BC. Chr.

He belonged to the Naxian nobility and supported Peisistratos in his third attempt to conquer sole rule ( tyranny ) in Athens (approx. 546 BC). Peisistratos then conquered around 538 BC. BC Naxos and left it to the rule of Lygdamis. Lygdamis held this position until 524 BC. When he was deposed by a Spartan expedition against Polycrates of Samos.
